Update: AI in the Classroom — new "What the Research Says: Tutor or Shortcut?" section on three 2026 studies of tutor-style versus answer-seeking AI use (via The New York Times Magazine), and an admonition on Arun Kumar's "Agent Science and Engineering" paradigm shift for CS and Data Science education.

Update: September 2026 platform, subscription, and API refresh. Choosing a Platform restructured with an "Education & Research Offers" section and a free-API-tier table; dormant or off-topic platforms retired (Jasper, Pi, Vicuna, Latimer, Merlin, Amazon Titan, OpenResearcher, StarCoder, Code Llama, Phind, Continue.dev, Scholar GPT/ScholarAI); current tools added (Cursor, OpenAI Codex, Google Antigravity and Jules, Devin Desktop, Kiro, Ai2 Asta, Edison Scientific, Undermind, SciSpace, OpenAI Prism, OpenRouter, Cerebras, xAI and Perplexity APIs); renames applied (NotebookLM → Gemini Notebook, Windsurf → Devin Desktop, Le Chat → Mistral Vibe, Azure AI Studio → Microsoft Foundry, HuggingChat → HuggingChat Omni, FutureHouse → Edison Scientific); Sora, ChatGPT Atlas, the Llama API, and GitHub Models marked discontinued.
Update: Microsoft Copilot and GitHub Copilot rewritten with September 2026 plan tables, education access, and institution-neutral sign-in steps; Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, VS Code & AI Tools, and Claude Code Workflow pricing and model blocks updated; campus-access notes across the site made institution-neutral (UNM users are pointed to CARC); the monthly pricing-refresh runbook updated to match.

Update: Workshop stewardship transferred to the UNM Center for Advanced Research Computing: new UNM icons, attribution, and cross-links to the CARC OKF bundles. Originally developed at the University of Arizona.
